World Cup 2026: here's how your business can win more guests and inquiries now.
· Last updated 18 August 2026 · by Kevin Stumpf
The 2026 football World Cup is over, but we are keeping the article online on purpose. For local businesses, every major event is one of the best chances of the year to win new guests and enquiries. The 7 levers here work just as well for the next tournament, town festival or holiday season. But only if people can find you online and reach you.
Quick facts: The World Cup runs from June 11 to July 19, 2026 in the USA, Canada and Mexico — with 48 teams and 104 matches, as many as ever before. Because of the time difference, many matches here don't kick off until late evening or at night. For you, that means long evenings, packed pubs and restaurants, and spontaneous enquiries, for weeks.
Here are 7 quick levers, with which hospitality, retail and service businesses are now making the most of it. No big project — and if you don't have the time yourself: That's exactly what I'll set up for you, so it keeps running while you take care of the business.

1 · Set your Google profile for match days
Die meisten suchen spontan: „wo Spiel gucken in der Nähe", „Restaurant Public Viewing [Stadt]". Wer bei Google ein gepflegtes Profil hat, taucht in genau diesen Suchen auf. Trag adjusted opening hours set it up for match days, post a short update (“We're showing all the World Cup games on the big screen”) and upload a couple of fresh photos. It costs nothing, but it gets you into local search.
2 · Timetable on your website — as a service
“World Cup fixtures” gets Googled millions of times. Put the key matches and your promotions on a small sub-page or a notice in the window. That's real added value, and a reason why people land on your Landing on your site instead of just the sports portal.
3 · No call slips through
During the match the pub is packed, the phone is ringing, and nobody can pick up. That's exactly when reservations and inquiries get lost. A AI phone assistant picks up when you can't: it notes name, party size and time and sends you everything by email. You call back at half-time – table secured instead of lost.
4 · Full shop = best time for reviews
When the place is busy and the mood is good, guests are most willing to leave a Google review. Make it easy for them: a QR code on the table or the bill, a friendly reminder. Over a full season, that can quickly add up to double-digit fresh reviews, and they keep working for your visibility all year round.
5 · Link actions to the timing of the stop times
„Zum Anpfiff jedes Deutschland-Spiels: [deine Aktion]." Solche zeitlich klaren Angebote funktionieren, weil sie einen Anlass haben. Kündige sie kurz an — auf der Website, per WhatsApp-Status, auf Instagram. Wichtig: einfach halten. Eine Aktion, ein Satz.
6 · Be reachable quickly — on every channel
Inquiries now come in through many channels: phone, WhatsApp, contact form, Instagram DM. Make sure every one of them is visible and only one click away. The fewer hurdles between "interested" and "booked", the more you keep.
7 · Not just hospitality
Retail and service providers benefit too: a matchday discount, a spontaneous offer in the shop window, longer opening hours on big matchdays. The same applies everywhere: be visible, be easy to reach, make the most of the occasion.
Don't do it yourself — let me set it up for you
You don't have to wade through Google profiles, interfaces and AI settings while the shop is busy. That's exactly what I'm here for: you tell me what you want — I build the rest.
What I in a few days set it up so you take the WM along:
- Website updates & fixture schedule service — you get found instead of overlooked.
- AI phone, that takes every call when the place is full — no more lost table.
- Review automation, which turns satisfied guests into fresh Google reviews.
A short conversation. I look at your business and take care of the technology. Write to me briefly — ideally before the next event is around the corner. Setting something like this up takes days, not weeks.
