Short and to the point: the World Cup giveaway has ended, and the tablet has found its new owner. That completes the campaign on my side.
It started in June, in parallel with the football World Cup. The idea was simple — raffle off a Samsung Galaxy Tab and use it to get talking with some businesses in the region. Entries closed on 19 July; I drew the winner on 22 July by lottery from all valid entries.
The winner stays anonymous
The winner has asked me not to publish her name. I respect that — so there is neither a name, nor a photo, nor a location here. The terms of participation stated from the outset that a name would only be published with explicit consent. That consent has not been given, so it stays that way.
What I can say: the tablet has arrived. Nothing more is needed here either.
Thank you to everyone who took part
Over the weeks, a number of entries came in, and some of them turned into conversations that had nothing to do with the giveaway any more. For me, that was the real return of the campaign.
If you didn't win: the offer still stands to take a no-obligation look at your website or your phone setup. You don't need a giveaway for that.
